After high school I went to Texas A&M and got a BS in Earth Science. With that in hand, I taught 8th grade Earth Science for three years in the Conroe Independent School District. Those three years were a blast except for the money. I got married in 1980 to a woman I met on a blind date. In 1981, I left teaching and went to work in the oil and gas exploration business working at Texas Oil & Gas for eight and a half years. Went to night school and got a second degree in Geology from the University of Houston. For the past twenty five years I have been working for Apache Corporation in the Gulf of Mexico Region working my way up the corporate ladder. The last year and half serving as the Offshore Oil Scout. But, all things must come to an end and in January 2015 I was laid off. I am now trying to decide the next chapter in my life's story.
